Get shorty Spaniard Pablo Larrazabal held on to win the Alfred Dunhill Championship by a single shot from Joel Sjoholm despite a final round 3-over-75. However, that was not the story making the headlines. For the first time on the European Tour, the competing players were allowed to wear shorts during the tournament due to the sweltering temperatures at Leopard Creek, South Africa. Shorts had previously been restricted to just practice rounds and pro-ams across the board but discussions between players, European Tour CEO Keith Pelley, and tournament host Johann Rupert led to the decision to relax the rules - but for this tournament only! So, what do you think? Was this the right call? Or would you rather golf at the elite level stuck to the long-standing tradition of trousers only? |
